Membership Classification and Dues

Professional Active $85 (Includes Registration to the Annual TPPA OR SWPA Convention ~ Beginning January 2005) Open to members in three categories:
1)Texas Photographers holding a Texas Limited Sales Tax permit, and who are available for assignments a minimum of thirty hours per week during ordinary business hours
2) Employees of photographers qualifying for membership under No I. who desire full membership rights. including eligibility to enter annual print competition.
3) Industrial or in-plant photographers employed by a firm whose main business purpose is not selling photographs.

Limited Associate $75 (Includes Registration to the Annual TPPA OR SWPA Convention ~ Beginning January 2005)- Open to individuals, seriously interested in photography, and are engaged in an occupation other than photography.

Student $40 (Includes Registration to the Annual TPPA OR SWPA Convention) - Open to full time students preparing for a career in photography, in a college or approved vocational or technical school Students applying must list name of school. course and instructor.

Service Firm $80 - Open to manufactures, supplier, laboratories and business supplying photographers: includes one person's membership.

Staff Associates $45 (Includes Registration to the Annual TPPA OR SWPA Convention ~ Beginning January 2005) - Open to individuals employed by a Professional Active or Service Firm member. Staff Associate membership may be accepted only if the employer is a current member.

Out of State $85 (Includes Registration to the Annual TPPA OR SWPA Convention ~ Beginning January 2005)

Note: Only professional Active members have all membership rights. Spouses of Professional Active members are exempt from dues, unless they elect to become a Professional Active member in order to vote or exhibit prints. Limited Associate, Out of State. Student, Service or Staff Associate members may not vote, hold office or enter photographs in competitions unless a special category has been established for them.


The TPPA is one of the largest PPA affiliated state associations.

Kerrville Seminar, a family oriented event in June at Kerrville.

The Texas School of Professional Photography, a 6 day school held on the campus of Texas A&M each April.

Registration fees for the Summer Seminar, Fall seminar and the school is required;
( fees are reduced for TPPA members)
