Photographing and Selling to the 4 Basic Personality Types

One Size Does Not Fit All—Designing, Photographing and Selling to the 4 Basic Personality Types

Deanna Duncan
Saturday, September 30
11:00 am to 12:30 pm

You have a gift. You are able to craft portraits that touch hearts, create laughter and evoke emotion. You share this gift with others. But what if this gift could be better? Join Deanna Duncan for a deep dive into the psychology of the personality types.

You will explore the Director, the Relator, the Socializer and the Thinker. Their desires, social interaction and buying patterns are all different. Conventional “One Size Fits All” lighting and sales techniques work well with some, but will have others walking out the door without making decisions. That ends now. It starts with the planning session.

Learn how to craft the perfect portrait for your client—from clothing to posing to lighting—based upon their personality type. Learn to create images that exceed their wildest expectations because they have found someone who “gets them.” Build your vocabulary with phrases that add value to people and make them feel affirmed. Then, learn when and how to build specialized collections for each type. Gain the confidence to start or fine-tune your in-personal sales and don’t be surprised when people joyfully throw money at you and walk out the door feeling like a winner. Sales doesn't have to be "slimy" or "icky." When you meet people's needs, its a joyful experience. Together we will laugh, have our heads explode with cutting-edge information and all leave knowing we are giving the best gifts possible. Come and join in the fun!

Deanna Duncan is a quiet thinker who enjoys delighting people, taking long runs and making the world a better place for people around the globe. She has a Masters in eye-rolling as she is married to Cris Duncan. Since he insists that they share an office, she is quite skilled in making the "close your mouth" motion with her fingers--complete with appropriate facial expressions. Seriously, together Cris and Deanna run a award winning portrait studio in Lubbock, TX which focuses on families and seniors. While dating in high school, they started taking pictures of landscapes and that passion continues today as they lead their Find You Focus Photographic Adventures. They have a daughter and a dog who both obey...sometimes. Deanna's heart is to help others who have been in the same place they were twelve years ago--starting a business and wondering how you are going to pay your mortgage. Come to this class and enjoy a time of refreshment and empowerment.

Photographing Families Great and Small

Photographing Families Great and Small

Adilfa Ford
Sunday, October 1
9:00 am to 10:30 am

Can you leap over tall buildings in a single bound, stop a locomotive with your bare hands, or run faster than a speeding bullet? No? Neither can I. But I can work with a crying child, deal with teenagers with attitude, and reassure an grouchy grandparent while posing a family of 30 people half of them under 10 years old in 15 minutes or less. In my business that's a superpower worth having. In this new world of I have a camera, I am a professional photographer, large family photographers are still in a class of their own. Most of my lower priced competition either can't or won't photograph large families leaving this very lucrative market to a very few.

Adilfa Ford of Don Polo Photography has been successfully working this market for over 20 years photographing routinely families of 50 and 60 people. In this program she will talk about marketing, booking, posing, selling, retouching, and printing. Everything you ever wanted to know about family portrait photography in one program. Okay, maybe not everything but at least enough to get you going and hopefully help you to make more money. Adilfa and her husband Russ are the owners of Don Polo Photography and make 100 percent of their family income in photography. They are both past presidents of the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association, CPP, Photographic Craftsmen, and National Award recipients. Adilfa is also a Master Photographer and Silver Photographer of the year award winner at Imaging USA for the past three years.
