Learn to See the Light and Shoot Anywhere
Hosted by Chelsea Williams

As a working photographer I am continuously amazed on everyone’s fixation on location of a photo shoot. I know that we would all love to have incredible backdrops for every photo shoot but in many cases that is unnecessary. I care more about the light than the location.

The more flexible I become as a photographer the more I have learned I can find the light almost anywhere. Turning a front porch or a office building into the perfect setting. Being flexible with location and time of day

I can shoot turns into being able to book more jobs. More and more photographers today are on the go and there are many benefits to being flexible enough to work on location. However, many on location photographers feel confined to only the hours right before dusk and only sunny days.

Affiliates newWhen you understand natural light and how to use it to your benefit you will be able to shoot more hours each day and not cancel a shoot due to a gray sky. Also, Just because you are away from the studio doesn’t mean you should give up your fill light or kicker. If you love natural light you should understand how to use it to shape your subject and light up their eyes.

Meet TPPA Member, Chelsea Williams

I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Photography from Sam Houston State University. Soon after, I married the the love of my life and had my daughter. Cheyanne is now 8 years old and a big sister to my son Max who is two. I love my family, photography and traveling and I try to mix them all together when I can. Some people say they think I’m quiet and reserved but that is just until they get to know me better. If you want to get me started talking just ask me about traveling and I won’t stop.
